US Tax Associate

Overview: As a US Tax Associate, you will be an integral part of our tax team, responsible for assisting with various aspects of tax compliance and planning for individuals, corporations, and other entities. Your role will involve working closely with clients, preparing tax returns, conducting research, and staying updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
  2. Assist in conducting tax research and analysis to support tax planning and compliance efforts.
  3. Review financial records, income statements, and other relevant documents to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential issues.
  4. Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and answer tax-related inquiries.
  5. Assist in preparing tax projections and estimates for clients.
  6. Stay updated on changes to tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide proactive tax advice.
  7. Assist in responding to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
  8. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tax projects and deliverables.
  9. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of tax filings and related information.
  10. Provide support during tax audits and examinations as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  2. CPA license or progress towards CPA certification preferred.
  3. Prior experience working in tax preparation or tax advisory services is desirable.
  4. Strong understanding of US tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
